The cold depths of north-country lakes water-marked Theresa Donovan as a child. The planet-scale power of the Pacific surged into her life when she was six years old. A swimmer, a fisher, a body-surfer, a seaweed eater, she fell in love with a hodad from the high, dry mesas of New Mexico. They raised two beautiful, blooming hybrids. When motherhood repressed too severely, Theresa binged on episodes of dictionary readinglike eating black licorice in private: slightly shameful, but strong, sweet, and salty.
Shameful secrets led to fiction writing. Many of Theresa's short stories have been published. She has won awards for several of them. Two of her novels have garnered major writers-conference awards.
